Setting up inventory tracking
Keep an eye on the supplies that run out between guests. Flip on stock tracking from your checklists, and your cleaners tell you what's Full, Low, or Out every time they clean.
How inventory works in TidyStay
Built into your checklists
There's no separate list to create. You turn on Track stock for any checklist item that's a supply — toilet paper, coffee, shampoo, trash bags.
Cleaners report on every turnover
When a cleaner finishes a job, each tracked item shows Full, Low, and Out. One tap logs the level — no app or login needed.
See what needs restocking
Your Inventory view rolls up the latest reports across properties and surfaces what's out or running low first — so nothing catches you off guard.
One-tap reordering
Add a supplier link to any item and a Reorder button appears the moment it runs low — opening the page you buy from in a new tab.
Before you start
You'll need a property with a cleaning checklist. If you haven't built one yet, open the property and add a checklist first — it only takes a minute. Inventory works with any setup, whether your bookings come from an iCal link or a PMS like OwnerRez.
Set it up in four steps
Open a property and go to the Checklist tab
From your dashboard, open the property you want to track, then click the Checklist tab. If you don't have a checklist yet, create one and add the supplies you restock between guests.
Turn on "Track stock" for each supply
Every checklist item has two toggles on the right. Tick the amber Track stock box for items you want to monitor — things like toilet paper, paper towels, coffee pods, dish soap, or shampoo. Add new items first if a supply isn't on the list.
Add a reorder link (optional)
When Track stock is on, a link field appears under the item. Paste the supplier page you reorder from — an Amazon product page, your wholesaler, anywhere — so you can restock in one click when it runs low.
You're set
That's it. From now on, every turnover for this property asks the cleaner to mark each tracked item as Full, Low, or Out — and those reports flow straight into your Inventory view.
Where to see stock levels
Per property
Open the property and click the Inventory tab. You'll see every tracked item grouped by section, with filters for Out, Low, Full, and items that haven't been reported yet.
All properties at once
Click Inventory in the dashboard sidebar. It opens to whatever needs attention — items that are out or running low — sorted so the most urgent properties are on top. Search by property or item name to jump straight to what you need.
