How to Share Your Airbnb Calendar With Your Cleaner
Short answer: there are three ways.
- Add your cleaner as a co-host with calendar access, so they can view your Airbnb calendar in their own Airbnb account.
- Share your iCal link, so your bookings show up in your cleaner's Google Calendar.
- Send them only the jobs, so they get a text for each clean instead of a calendar to work out.
Menu names below were checked against Airbnb's and Google's help pages on 28 October 2026.
Method 1: Add your cleaner as a co-host
Airbnb lets you add up to 10 co-hosts to a listing (Airbnb help), each with their own permissions. For a cleaner, choose Calendar access: they can view the calendar but not edit it. On a computer (Airbnb help):
- Click Listings and select the listing.
- Under Listing editor, click Your space.
- Click Co-Hosts, then Invite a Co-Host.
- Add your cleaner's country or region and their phone number or email address, then click Next.
- Choose Calendar access and click Next.
- Add an optional note, click Next, then review and click Send.
Your cleaner needs an Airbnb account. Airbnb asks new co-hosts to complete identity verification before they can accept the invitation.
Good for: a cleaner who already uses Airbnb and only cleans your Airbnb listings. Not so good for: bookings from other platforms, which won't be on this calendar, or cleaners who don't want another account.
Method 2: Share your iCal link
Your Airbnb calendar has a private link that other calendar apps can read. Give it to your cleaner and they can add it to Google Calendar.
Get the link from Airbnb
- Click Calendar and select the listing's calendar.
- Click Availability.
- Under Connect calendars, click Connect to another website.
- Copy the Airbnb calendar link.
These are Airbnb's own steps (Airbnb help). Send the link to your cleaner.
Add it to Google Calendar
Your cleaner does this on a computer (Google help):
- Open Google Calendar.
- On the left, next to Other calendars, click Add other calendars (+), then From URL.
- Paste the link and click Add calendar.
Your bookings now appear on the left, under "Other calendars".
The catch
A calendar shows dates, not jobs. Airbnb's link includes nights blocked for your availability settings, preparation time, advance notice and minimum stays (Airbnb help), so your cleaner sees those next to real bookings and has to know which is which. It doesn't carry your checkout time or a checklist, and when a guest cancels, the booking simply disappears. Nobody tells your cleaner.
Method 3: Send your cleaner only the jobs
Instead of a calendar to interpret, your cleaner gets one message per clean. This is what TidyStay does, and it's our product.
- Paste the same iCal link into TidyStay, or connect OwnerRez or Lodgify.
- Add your cleaner by name and phone number, and set them as the default for the property.
- For every checkout, your cleaner gets a text or email with a link to the job and its checklist. No app, no account.
If a guest cancels or changes dates, the job is cancelled or moved and your cleaner gets a text saying so. iCal calendars sync every morning, and you can tap Sync on a property to pull in a late booking straight away. Your first property is free. See how the scheduling works.
Vrbo and Booking.com
Both export the same kind of link, so methods 2 and 3 work for them too.
- Vrbo: in your dashboard, go to Calendar, then Settings, the Availability tab, Calendar sync, Connect calendars, and Export calendar. Full steps are on our Vrbo page.
- Booking.com: in the Extranet, go to Rates & Availability, then Sync calendars, and add an export connection. Booking.com labels booked and closed nights the same way in its export, so your cleaner can't tell them apart. Full steps are on our Booking.com page.
Troubleshooting
A new booking isn't showing. Google refreshes calendars added from a link on its own schedule and doesn't say how often. Check the booking on Airbnb, and if it's urgent, text your cleaner. In TidyStay, tap Sync on the property.
A cancelled booking is still showing. Same cause: the calendar hasn't refreshed yet. Your cleaner should confirm with you before turning up.
The link won't add. Make sure the whole link was copied. Airbnb's calendar links end in .ics (Airbnb help).
Dates look a day off. Bookings in a calendar link are all-day dates. If they look shifted in your cleaner's calendar, check the event against your Airbnb calendar and confirm the calendar's time zone setting.
How iCal works
iCal (short for iCalendar, files ending in .ics) is a standard format that lets calendar apps share events. When you export a calendar from Airbnb or add one to Google Calendar, you're using it.
Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com and most other booking platforms publish your calendar as an iCal link. Anything that reads the format can fetch that link and see which nights are booked or blocked. If you've ever synced Airbnb and Vrbo to avoid double bookings, that was iCal too.
The link only describes dates. It doesn't push updates; each app fetches it again on its own schedule. That's why a shared calendar can lag behind a booking, and why tools that need to react quickly connect to your PMS directly where they can.
